In a meeting taking place in Japan, The Pokémon Company is announcing three new developments for Pokémon: a new Nintendo Switch title, a mobile title, and a new device.
The title being announced is called Pokémon Quest, a title that will have functionality across both the Nintendo Switch and mobile platform. Developed by Game Freak, it will feature new visuals called Pokécells and can be controlled by touch screen or by the Nintendo Switch. The title will feature Pokémon from the Kanto region only, and the setting is a location called Tumblecube Island.
The next set is the previously “leaked” Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, coming 2019. It’s a game for the Nintendo Switch, with the capability to have multiple friends in the game at once and using the actual movement-based catching mechanics of Pokémon GO. Here’s a video! It also comes out November 16. Neat tidbit here – these are spin-offs, with a new core title coming in second half of 2019.
The meeting has members from The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Niantic, and Junichi Masuda himself.
This story is still developing.
