New Dashboard Features are Coming to Xbox One Preview

New features are coming to the Xbox One Preview program and Xbox Beta app this month. Those enlisted in the Xbox One Preview Program will get to test new features such as the ability to see who is in a party, gamerscore leaderboard, an updated activity feed, joinable Twitch broadcasts, and more.

The Xbox One is meant to be a social platform as well as a gaming console. The previous system update in November focused on making the dashboard faster, more sociable, and more user-friendly. The avatar store is a new program that will allow players to customize their cosmetic appearance. The Xbox news hub and improvement to “trending” items will help you stay in touch with the gaming community from the comfort of your dashboard.

The preview program exists as a means to generate feedback from users in order to improve the Xbox One. The dashboard and system have been vastly improved from its original launch, but still needs some refinement. It will continue to evolve based on the feedback from players.

More information on the new changes coming to the Xbox One Preview program can be found on Major Nelson’s website.

  1. One of these days I’m going to get an Xbox One. Looks like the console is getting a lot better.

  2. I think Xbox One is “behind” PS4 mainly because of the initial pre-release controversy brought on by Don Mattrick. The controller is probably the best I’ve ever used and there is never a shortage of consistent exclusives. I love the console personally.
