During a highly anticipated Nintendo Direct, the Pokemon Company unveiled new information about the next set of Pokemon titles coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. The Direct is below, here.
The game is set to take place in the Galar region, and is officially called Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. The Pokemon Company unveiled the three new starters, and a snippet of the new region and gameplay, which looks a lot more expansive than regions past.
This actually looks quite promising, with the game having a more sports-arena type feel and varied landscapes like a snowy region.
Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield will see a simultaneous worldwide release in 2019, with additional Pokemon-related content to come later this year, with the intent of “delighting fans,” per Mr. Ishihara.
