Out of the blue, Insomniac Games has released Update 1.08 for Marvel’s Spider-Man which contains the highly anticipated New Game Plus mode. The update is 4.713 GB in size. There was some speculation earlier this week as to when players would finally receive this feature, considering The Heist DLC releases on October 23. Well, wait no more Spidey fans because New Game Plus has finally arrived!
New Game Plus
For those who do not know, New Game Plus allows you to play through the game again. However, instead of starting from square one, this time you get to take all of your hard-earned Suits, upgrades, skills, and gadgets with you. Also included with the New Game Plus update is the new “Ultimate Difficulty”. This new difficulty should help to further deepen the experience and add more challenge for those who’ve already completed the game on it’s hardest difficulty, “Spectacular”. It is unclear as to what this difficulty will change in terms of AI.
Upon starting your game and creating a New Game Plus file, you’ll be greeted with the option of a new “Ultimate” difficulty. This is what the in-game description reads, “This setting is for expert players who enjoy a brutally difficult experience.”. This should give players what they’ve been asking for: more challenging combat, stealth sections, and most importantly to fans, Boss Fights. One of the more common complaints from players was that this game’s boss battles did not provide enough challenge.
The fans have spoken, and nobody can deny that Insomniac Games is listening to their feedback, making the proper changes accordingly. With Update 1.08, players will be pleased to have another reason to return to the game before The Heist DLC releases next week. Both are certain to be welcome additions to an already well-received game.
Let us know what you will be doing first in the New Game Plus mode and whether or not you’ll be trying out the new Ultimate difficulty.
