A Nintendo Direct aired earlier today, focusing on a slew of titles aimed at the Nintendo 3DS and the newly released Nintendo Switch. Headlining this Direct were the fighting game ARMS and the highly-anticipated Splatoon 2, the sequel to new Nintendo IP Splatoon released on the Wii U.
Splatoon 2 will feature a new game mode involving cooperative play, called Horde Mode. The Inklings have grown up and are now charged with splatting salmon eggs and taking eggs to designated incubation stations on the map. The Direct aired new gameplay footage of what appears to be a boss character, Steelhead.
In addition, in the Amiibo department, Nintendo announced several new Amiibo for Splatoon 2, as shown in this video below.
These Amiibo come with the game, and will be used to store custom load outs and costumes. Yes, previous Amiibo from the first game will be compatible here on Splatoon 2 as well.
Splatoon 2 launches July 21 for the Nintendo Switch.
