Star Wars Battlefront 3 Remake Gets Greenlit on Steam

Remember all those months ago, and the rumbles and whispers of the Star Wars Battlefront III project that began making the rounds on gaming media publications? Well, it’s apparently a real game going forward, having been approved by Valve for distribution on Steam.

The game, developed by Frontwire Studios, uses the intellectual property now owned by Disney, and will be publishing without the latter’s permission. While the potential of a cease and desist order hangs high, Frontwire Studios President Tony Fergie Romanelli appears to not share any of those concerns; in fact, he’s quite confident.

“It is with great pleasure that as of today I am able to officially announce that Frontwire Studios has officially signed a distribution deal with Steam/Valve for the game Galaxy in Turmoil.

After ongoing discussion between Valve representatives and myself, Valve/Steam has agreed to ship Galaxy in Turmoil to its millions of users for FREE.”

Even if the game were to be free, this is one of the most renowned franchises in entertainment history. Romanelli sees Valve’s support of the Galaxy in Turmoil project as a chance to grow the project and build a community behind it. Seeing the potential in this game makes for an incredibly nostalgic me. I wanted to believe in the new Star Wars Battlefront from EA, I really did. This looks to bring back the memories of the many hours I spent connected to the multitap playing Battlefront II. Best of luck to Frontwire Studios, and may karma smile upon you.
