As December finally approaches, and as I bemoan my upcoming exams and deadlines, there’s definitely some solace in knowing that Image and Form’s Steamworld Heist is approaching. Earlier today, CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson announced via an email that the game would be released to the Nintendo 3DS on December 10th, at 14:00 UTC to the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Japan and other platforms will follow suit in 2016. The team at Image and Form anticipates it blowing the socks off of many gamers, so guys, keep a steady supply of those on hand!
The price of the title will be $19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99. For a limited time, though, from launch till December 31st, the price will be discounted to $16.99 / €16.99 / £11.99. They will also (more than likely) not discount it after this period. And before gamers could balk at the high price point, Brjann came to the rescue with a bit of math — even if it’s too early in the morning for it.
- SteamWorld Dig costs $9.99.
- SteamWorld Heist is 10 times bigger and better than Dig.
- Ergo: you’re getting 5 times the value.
In addition, every Steamworld Heist purchase from launch till December 31st will come with a promo Nintendo 3DS theme. It will not be showing up after that period though, so get purchasing!
