As we get closer to the end of the year, we get closer to playing many of our most anticipated games. For many Switch owners, one game they are looking forward to is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With a roster of already 66 confirmed characters, there’s a lot to be excited for. As we wait for the game’s release, we now know that the game will take up at least 16 GB of storage.
The news comes from the official listing for the game on the Japanese Nintendo online store. It says that the game will need 16 GB or more to be playable on your Switch. Of course it is important to note that at this time, this is just an estimate from Nintendo. The game will release on December 7th so things could possibly change over time. With that said, that is still a lot of space taken up by the game. In comparison, the game dwarves Super Mario Odyssey‘s storage which was just 6 GB. It even takes up more space than the critically acclaimed Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which took up 13 GB.
Regardless of how much space the game will take up, fans are probably eager to play a new Super Smash Bros. game on the Switch when it releases on December 7th. What do you think about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate possibly taking up 16 GB of space? Are there any games in particular you may have to delete to make room? For anything else Super Smash Bros.
