Smac Games, a small indie game studio, has announced their debut game Tokyo 42. Tokyo 42 is an open-world game set in a future Tokyo. The game offers both stealth and action seen from an isometric view, when the player descends into the world of cutthroats and assassins.
Claimed to take inspiration from old classics such as Worms, the first GTA, Syndicate and Monument Valley, the game still seems to own its own identity. The developers have claimed that the game has full physics, which the bullets and grenades must adhere to. With the physics engine, the players are able to dodge and weave as they gun down their rival gang members. The game will offer other mechanics too, like the ability to blend into crowds to hide from your enemies.
Tokyo 42 will have both a single player mode and a competitive multiplayer mode. The multiplayer mode will take advantage of the game’s mechanics to create an arena-based race to pick the other player out before being killed first.
Tokyo 42 will be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. At the moment the publisher Mode 7 Games hasn’t revealed the release date, but it probably will be sometime next year. More details on the game’s web page.
