Series creator Kojiro Uchikoshi discussed via interview the wrapping up of loose ends, loose ends and mysteries from prequels 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward. With eight pages of Famitsu coverage, details are still coming out, which can be viewed in full here.
Some potential highlights include:
Why has “Extreme Escape” disappeared from the title?
“One reason is that we want to renew the image [of the series]. We want to bring the overseas name Zero Escape over without changing it.”
Are there any extreme scenes?
“The ‘Ultimate Choice’ is a thing where one’s life is put at risk. I want the player to be well-worried. Since we don’t want to soften up the presentation for the sake of age regulations, we’re putting out the presentation how I want it without changes. So the possibility that this is the first Z-rated game for 3DS is high. (Laughs.)”
The story takes place in December 2028, after the events of the prequels. The nine characters are divided into teams of three and two additional characters, named Zero and Gab, will be introduced at some point in the story. More details are surely coming, and we’ll keep you posted as we see them!
