The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild got its second showcase at The Game Awards. Following its beautiful environmental trailer, the anticipated game got an even more detailed spotlight.
A new area of the game is revealed which shows Link searching for shrine with the help Kass, a bird-like minstrel who plays an accordion. He encounters enemies which he attacks using a variety of weapons such as a claymore, a two-handed axe and of course the bow and arrow. Food and resources are consumed, demonstrating the loose survival aspect of the game.
Though Breath of the Wild is probably the biggest departure from the traditional Zelda formula, it sure feels exciting. Even with all of the new features, it still feels like Zelda. Combat seems fast, fun, and extremely polished. This short clip of a quest for a secret shrine is familiar, yet something new and different.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases in 2017 on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
