Nintendo’s upcoming fourth smartphone game based on the Animal Crossing franchise has been delayed.  Originally intended for release last year and then pushed to the end of February 2017, this makes for the games second delay.  A new release window has been set placing the title sometime between April 2017 and March 2018, leaving a rather large gap for fans.
The reasoning behind this decision was so more focus could be on the Android release of Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes, both arriving on February 2nd.
Nintendo has said in the past that the mobile Animal Crossing game has been designed to interact with both handheld and console versions of the game.  While New Leaf recently got an update, it’s been more than 8 years since Animal Crossings last console release, so maybe a new Animal Crossing title is closer than we think.
