Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is Unlike Previous Assassin’s Creed Games

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at first glance seems similar to Origins, but really it is a reimagined way of playing an Assassin’s Creed game.

The game is set during the Peloponnesian War when Greece was divided. It will revolve around Ancient Greek mythology and the First Civilization. This protagonist is unique because they are a descendant of the First Civilization. After choosing whether you want to play as Alexios or Kassandra, you embark on your odyssey.

The character was raised up to be a Spartan warrior, but a tragedy rips their family apart. The story then picks up 17 years later when the character returns to the island of Kefalonia. While in the present day, Layla is researching on the First Civilization.

Your character is the descendant of Leonidas, and his sphere is passed down your character. It has incredible power and it will become a necessary weapon during combat. The sphere may end up being more than just a weapon in the game since it seems to be quite important in the story.

In this role-playing journey, you will explore Greek land, but also the sea. Naval combat and exploration are key in the map for Odyssey. You can customize your ships, recruit NPCs, and certain ships have certain capabilities. These features are quite similar to Black Flag. On the character, gear is customizable, you have the ability to upgrade, you can also acquire skills as you progress.

An important feature in Odyssey is interactive dialogue which will shape the outcomes in the game. However, the story will play out as it is recorded in history so dialogue options will not affect that.

The game will release on October 5 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
