Rome and Egypt were the two major locations and forces in Assassin’s Creed Origins. The two DLC’s divide their focus on the military power of the Romans and mysteries of Egypt.
The first Assassin’s Creed Origins DLC, The Hidden Ones, will launch on January 23. The story will expand on the tensions between the Roman forces and the Brotherhood in Sinai, a new location. There will be new gear, weapons, outfits for Bayek and the level cap will be 45. The Hidden Ones can be purchased separately for $10 USD for those who do not have the season pass.
The release date of the second expansion, Curse of the Pharaohs, is March 6th for $20 USD. The story in Curse of the Pharaohs takes Bayek to Thebes to learn about an ancient curse. The level cap will increase to 55, the gear and weapons will be Egypt themed.
Additionally, a free update is arriving on February 20 for player who already own Origins through Uplay or Steam. For those who do not own Origins, the update will be $20 USD for PC only. Discovery Tour is a combat-free mode where players can explore Ptolemaic Egypt without engaging with the story.
In the past, the Assassin’s Creed series had tabs of information that would pop up near specific monuments. Now, Ubisoft will make free-roaming educational with daily guided tours to learn about Egyptian history. The tours are presented by Egypt historians and experts.
