After a long two year hiatus, Ubisoft is bringing the Assassin’s Creed franchise back to life with Assassin’s Creed Origins. The world premier trailer created some hype, but the conference is where we get the meat and gravy.

Assassin’s Creed Origins:

It takes place in ancient Egypt, finally after fans have been asking for it. As the title say “Origins”. The game goes back to the origins of the Assassin’s Brotherhood.

The most familiar aspect of the game is that it is open-world. Players will get the chance to explore different environments of Egypt, the largest map Assassin’s Creed has ever had. The different environments call for different tactics. You have your pyramids, deserts, but rivers and jungles. Like past games animal play an essential role in the gameplay. So keep your eyes pealed for lions on the ground and the crocodiles in the river.

The assassin has master hunter, master warrior, and master steer abilities. You can give your assassin specific skill sets based on the techniques you prefer. Maintaining and upgrading gear is another component of leveling your character. And yes, you have the hidden blade. Also, as any other Assassin’s Creed game, loot helps you gather resources. Climbing is enhanced to allow the players to climb nearly all surfaces in the game. Sychronizing viewpoints still involves climbing tall structures.

Eagle vision is no longer the odd color scheme that allows you to target enemies. It is reminiscent of the owl from Far Cry Primal where the owl flies over the enemies and tags targets. In this case though, it is with an eagle. Even though Assassin’s Creed Origins has a reinvented style of play, it still looks like a traditional Assassin’s Creed game.

Although we know about the historical aspect of Assassin’s Creed Origins, the conference did not mention what the modern-day situation is.

It will be released on October 27th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
