Ubisoft revealed on its blog today that some free DLC will be available for download in November following the release of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. According to the blog post, these snazzy new outfits are meant as a thank-you gift from the character design team to all the fans of the series that have given them support throughout all these years.

The female playable assassin, Evie, gets the “Doctor Daniel’s Garments”outfit, which boasts a flashy cape and an electrically-charged shoulder pad. It seems to be themed off of the inventions of Nikola Tesla, a popular scientific figure who made many advancements in the field of electricity and its manipulation, and who, in the current era, is responsible for inspiring many steampunk-themed contraptions in games and literature. While it may not be directly referencing him, the style and the presence of the Tesla coils on the shoulder armor seem to be a pretty obvious homage to the unappreciated genius of Tesla.

Jacob, the male playable character in Syndicate and the one present on the cover of the box art, instead gets a costume that directly references Mary Shelley’s most popular work. Dubbed “The Creature’s Rags,” the outfit puts the Victorian assassin into tattered garments, seemingly made out of patchwork leather and human skin. It has a more morbid twist to it than Evie’s new costume, but it is themed around Frankenstein’s monster.

Both of these costumes will be free to download in the weeks after AC Syndicate releases, whether you own the Season Pass of the game or not.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate releases on October 23.
