In a reveal from Dengeki Nintendo, a Japanese gaming magazine, Atlus has confirmed a follow-up title to the 3DS RPG Shin Megami Tensei IV. The magazine’s Twitter account directed to a teaser image, counting down until ‘the start of a disaster.’
Once the countdown hit 15,000, the website opened, unveiling Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final. We have no details on release nor any hints as to what this entry to the franchise entails. The website promises additional information will be revealed on October 11, but until then, it’s anyone’s guess.
Shin Megami Tensei IV released on the 3DS back in 2013 for both Japan and America and in 2014 for Europe. It was the first mainline SMT game to be released on a handheld device, and met with positive reception. Previously, Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne received an updated re-release, as have several of the Persona games, so there is a precedent for what to expect here.
