Electronics Arts and DICE have announced the open beta for Battlefield 1 will begin on August 31. The beta will be available across Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Origin on that date. However those who sign up as a Battlefield insider and select their platform by August 21, will get into the Battlefield 1 beta early.

With this announcement, EA and DICE also debuted a new gameplay trailer for Gamescon 2016.

Players who participate in the Battlefield 1 beta will be able to try out the Conquest and Rush modes on the new Sinai Desert map, which supports a colossal 64 player match. We expect to see the controllable Armored Train and usable horses but this map also features three new Elite Classes, introducing the Flame Trooper, Sentry and Tank Hunter.

Battlefield 1 is due to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 21.
