Before arriving as a playable character in Super Smash Bros., Nintendo has announced the Wii U exclusive Bayonetta 2 will release February 19 as a standalone title.
A sequel to 2010’s multiplatform Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 released in October of 2014, and the physical copy came with a Wii U port of the original game. Justifying its $29.99 pricetag, the standalone version comes only with the sequel. Nintendo has yet to announce plans to release this new version in other territories.
Bayonetta 2 was met with widespread critical acclaim, and if you didn’t pick up PlatinumGames’ action masterpiece the first time around, now’s the time to do it. Will you be playing Bayonetta 2 on February 19, and are you excited for Bayonetta in Super Smash Bros.? Let us know in the comments below.
