Rumors suggest Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 may not have a traditional single-player story

Throughout the years, the Call of Duty franchise has seen an increase in both fans and critics. This year’s entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, already has people speculating. However, if one of these rumors turns out to be true, then we will not be getting a traditional single-player story mode in Black Ops 4.

First reported by Polygon, there multiple sources claiming that the single-player mode would not be finished by the October 12th release date due to the shorten time frame. With this in mind, the focus is now on expanding both multiplayer and the famous Zombies mode based on one source. When asked, Activision declined to comment on these reports. While this is sad news for players wanting single-player content, do no be alarmed. There are claims from CharlieIntel and Eurogamer that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remastered will launch this year. One thing to note about this remaster is that it will come without any multiplayer content and will only contain the campaign.

The final rumor circling out there is that Black Ops 4 may contain a Battle Royale mode, as reported by Eurogamer and Charlie Intel. For now, we will have to wait until May 17th where Activision is revealing Black Ops 4 at a community event. Black Ops 4 is being developed by Treyarch, who are no stranger to the Call of Duty Franchise. Their first game in the series was Call of Duty: World at War in 2008 and they started the Black Ops series in 2010.
