Nintendo Announce Plans for Breath of the Wild DLC with Expansion Pass

Breath of the Wild DLC

With the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Nintendo Switch imminent, Nintendo have announced that there will be post-release downloadable content available later this year. This is the first time that a mainline Zelda game will have DLC. An “Expansion Pass” will be available to purchase upon release for $19.99/£17.99, that will also grant access to three treasure chests in the game’s Great Plateau. The chests, as part of the Breath of the Wild DLC, will include an exclusive Nintendo Switch shirt that link can wear on his adventures. The other two chests will contain some as of yet undisclosed useful items. The first content pack, due for a summer release, will include a “Cave of Trials” challenge, the addition of a hard mode. The second Breath of the Wild DLC will arrive during the 2017 holiday period, and will let the player enjoy a new dungeon and new storyline.

“The world of Hyrule which we created for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is so large and vibrant that we wanted to offer more for players to experience within it. With this new Expansion Pass, we hope that fans will play, explore and enjoy the game even more.” What are your thoughts on the announcement of Breath of the Wild DLC?
