The Big House 6, the much-hyped Super Smash Bros. Melee major in Dearborn, Michigan has crowned its victor.

In a showdown befitting of the Big House name, Cloud 9’s Joseph “Mang0” Marquez defeated Alliance’s Adam “Armada” Lindgren after an impressive Winner’s bracket run.

Despite allowing Armada to reset the Grand Finals bracket with a 3-0, Mang0 fought back all the way with a nail-biting five-game second set.

Armada, the #1 ranked Melee player in the world, appeared in control throughout most of the set. However, some clutch plays, including a couple incredible up-smashes allowed Mang0 to squeeze through to victory.

Surprisingly absent from Grand Finals was Juan “Hungrybox” DeBiedma, who was clearly underperforming throughout the final day of TBH6. On the main stage, Hungrybox appeared distracted and was bitterly laughing whenever he lost a stock.

A series of strange twitter posts preceded and followed his matches.

Whether this means that we may be seeing a break, or quite possibly a retirement, in Hbox’s future, or if he merely was discouraged by a loss, is not entirely clear.

For now, Mang0, Armada, and the rest of the top Melee players will recuperate until Smash Summit 3, which takes place November 3-6, in Los Angeles, California.
