In a move that flew largely under the radar for most gamers, the action-adventure comedy Deadpool is rereleasing on current-generation consoles this coming Tuesday in what seems to be another double-dip from Activision. Originally announced back in September, there has been incredibly little information around the internet regarding the improvements made in this remaster, but it can be assumed that we’ll be seeing the usual 1080p improvements and some updated textures in the package, along with the ‘Merc With A Map Pack’ DLC that was released shortly after the game first hit shelves back in 2013.
For those who were living under a rock two years ago, Deadpool was created as High Noon’s answer to the linear action-adventure genre. In collaboration with Marvel Comics, you take control of the titular merc with a mouth Deadpool as he goes on zany adventures all in the name of creating ‘the most awesome video game ever.’ It’s chock-full of fourth-wall breaking humor, slapstick moments, over-the-top set pieces, and plenty of cameos from well-known Marvel superheroes. While it may not have been everything the title character was hoping for his game to be, it’s worth checking out for the humor alone, although you may want to wait for a price cut before picking it up again.
The remastered Deadpool releases today for $49.99 on both PS4 and Xbox One.
