Bad news everybody: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has been delayed. The previous release date was planned to be February 23, 2016, but now the game has been pushed back to August 23, 2016. The companies making the game, Eidos Montreal and Nixxes Software BV, tweeted that they care more about quality than they do about keeping the original release date. Eidos Montreal’s head, David Anfossi, explained the reasons behind the delay.

“We’re confident and proud of the game so far. However, as we are now playing through the game in full we can see that it will require more time in post-production for tuning, iterations and refinement to meet our high standards. In order to achieve this, we need to move the release of the game to 23 August 2016.”

He continues to say how sorry he is for the delay and how the game will be of such quality that it will be a worthy successor to Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It’s a shame that we won’t be seeing the new game until August of next year, but hopefully the wait will be worth it as long as the game meets the companies’ high standards. How do you feel about the delay; will it be worth it in the end? We’d be glad to hear your thoughtful opinions in the comments below.
