It’s been a long time between drinks for Dragon Quest fans, but the recent Nintendo Direct stream revealed some information that should make the wait for the next title a bit more bearable. 3DS ports of both Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII are on the way next year. While no specific information is available on either launch windows or the details of the port, it’s a refreshing sign of a life for a rather dormant series in the West.
In related news, the PS4 title Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below is set to receive a port to the PC. It was available for pre-purchase on the Steam storefront very briefly before being taken down, but keen fans managed to grab a screencap. At this point, there is no official word on the release, nor is any indication of a release window available.
