Firewatch is coming to Nintendo Switch some time soon

Campo Santo posted on their blog that Firewatch will definitely be coming to the Nintendo Switch, but there is no firm release date. However, they mentioned that it will be sometime “soon”.

They are reworking the technology and rebuilding the world of Firewatch to give the best experience on the Switch. They state, “Nearly everyone in the Campo Santo office has a Nintendo Switch (and the rest want one). We know what a good Switch game feels like, and want to make sure Firewatch feels like one too.”

The modifications will not change the story or gameplay. Although in the post, Campo Santo mentioned that there may be a surprise for their release on Switch. They did not drop any hints so we will have to wait till they make their next announcement.

Campo Santo wants Firewatch to be a fine-tuned game in the future and not only for the Switch. For fans and new players, they plan to perform optimizations on the Switch as well as for all other platforms. This plan is meant to improve the game’s performance and support the future of the game.

Firewatch released in 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, OS X, and Linux. It is a single player adventure game that earned praise for its story and visuals.

Currently, Campo Santo is also working on their next game, In The Valley of Gods, which is expected to release in 2019.
