From today until November 18th, Blizzard Battle.net will have Destiny 2 as a free game download. This is a gift to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the game’s launch on PC for the very first time. Players who already own the game on PC will get a special emblem.
The initial launch of the game drove some fans away since the content wasn’t what fans wanted. The release of Forsaken was a new beginning for Destiny 2 and Bungie is using this momentum to get fans back in the game.
Lately, Bungie has had a few promotions going on. In September, Destiny 2 was free through PlayStation Plus for those who don’t have the game on PS4 yet. However, you can only play free PS Plus games when you have the PS Plus subscription. Additionally, last month, Bungie made Curse of Osiris and Warmind free with the Standard Edition purchase of Forsaken.
Many fans and critics have showered the PC version of Destiny 2 with praise, so if you play on a console, this is a good time to try it out on PC. Blizzard is also keeping a “Gambit Free Weekend” from November 9–11.
