Wow, in a shocking turn of events, the publication GameTrailers, well known for its pioneering coverage of video-based gaming coverage, is shutting down today. The information is fresh to the employees, who had just found out hours ago that their job was through. The team got together this evening to host one final live stream on their Twitch channel.
Today is the last day of GameTrailers. I wish it wasn’t so. I love all of our fans like family. Thank you for letting me do this job.

It’s a huge shock for me, given their great work that they’ve done. Nobody’s going to be able to forget the crew at E3 2015, covering the Sony press conference. That was really the epitome of gamers being passionate about the job. Despite people calling it out as “unprofessional,” that was still, to this day, one of my favorite examples of gaming coverage. It’s how coverage should strive to be, that at the end of the day, we are human.
As the owner and Executive Editor, I wish the team nothing but the best of luck in their future endeavors. Thank you for thirteen years of incredible service to this industry.
