Episode 15 of our gaming podcast, The Gamer Professionals Show (GPS) is now live! We’re exhausted after a long week at E3 and have lots to talk about. In part one of our E3 coverage, we discuss the EA, Microsoft, and Bethesda press conferences. As we go through the list of announcements, we also talk about things that caught our attention and games that we saw on the show floor. You can also find out if our E3 predictions had any weight to them.
With so many exciting announcements, it’s difficult not to get into lengthy discussions about our favorite games. We delve deep into Star Wars Battlefront II, Need For Speed Payback, Dragonball Fighter Z, State of Decay 2, Ashen, Sea of Thieves, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and much more.
EA’s conference featured a pretty awkward Battlefront II demo, but we’re sold on the game nonetheless. A Way Out was a nice surprise that generates some nice discussion on the show. Need For Speed Payback was great to see on stage. Perhaps it will fill the void left by the very popular Burnout 3: Takedown.
Microsoft was like a nonstop barrage of new games, but we felt that only a handful of them were noteworthy. At $499.99, it doesn’t seem like the Xbox One X will be a huge hit, but should appeal to hardcore players who already own 4K TVs. The extended demo for Anthem was a showstopper for sure, but we need to see more before we are completely in love.
Bethesda spent a lot of their conference talking about VR support for DOOM and Fallout 4, which generates a great discussion about the affect this will have on the future of the medium. There’s some disagreement about this among the GPS crew and we’re not all sold on the idea. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was definitely the highlight of their conference and has us all very excited!
