Episode 37 of our gaming podcast, The Gamer Professionals Show (GPS) is now live! Join us this week as we discuss all of this week’s current events and get into our preliminary Game of the Year talk.

In the news, there are a lot of great e-shop titles now available on Switch such as DOOMLA Noire, and Rocket League.  Nintendo have also stated that they are aiming to produce tons of Switch hardware in 2018. In particular, they are planning to develop 25-30 million units in their fiscal year.

In other news, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has released its first DLC of four. These will function as ‘lighter’ side stories away from the game’s protagonist, BJ Blazkowicz. Bluehole, the original developer of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds also announced a new game called Ascent: Infinite Realm. A new MMO, A:IR is set in a steampunk world where flight is the main method of travel.

Perhaps the biggest news this week is the continuing controversy over EA’s Star Wars Battlefront II microtransactions. We dive deep into what the finer points and what needs to change. This was all sparked over a Reddit post detailing the mass amounts of hours it takes to unlock popular heroes in the multiplayer mode.

We also take some time to check in on our Super Mario Odyssey progress. Jordan has now started the game and is really loving it. For the final topic, we talk about the Game of the Year nominations for this year’s Game Awards and go through our personal top 5!
