GPS: Episode 29: Metroid: Samus Returns, Destiny 2, Dishonored, and More

Episode 29 of our gaming podcast, The Gamer Professionals Show (GPS) is now live! Join us as we gush about Destiny 2 a bit more and talk about the new games we are playing.

There’s a lot of news coming out of Tokyo Game Show including a new game from Square Enix called Left Alive, a remaster for Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, a port of Final Fantasy IX now available on PS4, and a port of Dragon’s Crown also coming to PS4. Last week’s Nintendo Direct brought us news of Arcade Archives, which is a program that brings Nintendo arcade games to the Switch. First up is the arcade game Mario Bros. In other news, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim now has an official Switch release date of November 17th.

This week, we’ve also spent some time with Dishonored: Death of the Outsider and give out initial impressions of the first few hours. Listeners can look forward to our review of that and our discussion of how it compares to the core game Dishonored 2.

It wouldn’t be GPS if we didn’t talk about Destiny 2! Yes, we’ve been playing a lot, but we aren’t quite raid-ready yet. We discuss our review for the game and how we are feeling about it after a couple weeks of playing.

In our main topic, we talk Metroid: Samus Returns, which we gave a fantastic score. By all accounts, 2D Metroid is back and hopefully for good. As a remake of Metroid II: Return of Samus, this is definitely the better version and basically an entirely new game. It’s a great reason to dust of the ol’ 3DS!

Thanks for listening to the show!
