Happy Thanksgiving!

Episode 38 of our gaming podcast, The Gamer Professionals Show (GPS), is now live! Join us this week as we, yet again, talk mostly about EA and their games.

As many of you know, we’re big Destiny advocates so expect some in-depth talk about the Curse of Osiris expansion and what we thought of the Bungie livestream. Maybe it’s just the overloaded 2017, but we aren’t feeling as compelled to play Destiny 2 as we did the first game. This expansion looks interesting, but not particularly significant.

Nintendo is beating both Microsoft and Sony in terms of gaming hardware sales once again. This is especially impressive since both the Switch and the SNES Classic are in such limited quantities. We talk about how Nintendo have had fantastic year, both in terms of quality game releases and overall sales.

While Nintendo have received a lot of praise this year, EA have been under the microscope throughout the entire year. With Visceral’s closingMass Effect Andromeda‘s mediocre reception, and the debacle over microtransactions in Need For Speed Payback and Star Wars Battlefront II, EA is simply not in the good grace of gamers.

At the end of the show, we talk about Star Wars Battlefront II‘s campaign and why it was one of the most disappointing games of the year. What initially seemed to be a very promising premise ended up being a clunky mess of a four hour FPS campaign. Character motivations are hardly justified and the game, overall, just suffers from having “too many cooks in the kitchen” in terms of the writing.
