Back in May, 343 announced that Halo 5‘s map maker was going to be available on PC by fall. The news was huge, and it preceded the announcement that Xbox will be bringing most of its new titles to PC through its “Play Anywhere” campaign.

Today, 343 unveiled the release date for this update; the aptly named “Anvil’s Legacy” will be touching down on September 8th. Along with the Windows 10 Forge release, Anvil’s Legacy includes two new maps and a brand new Forge content browser that lets player share and access their favorite Forge maps with ease.

Forge will only be available on Windows 10 PCs, but 343 touts 4k resolution, mouse/keyboard support, and a slew of new features for the beloved map maker.
