343 Industries announced earlier today that Halo 5’s map editor “Forge” is coming to Windows 10. Originally introduced in Halo 3, Forge was a ground-breaking addition that allowed users to edit existing maps. As it was expanded throughout later iterations, Forge now allows users to build their maps from the ground up.
Forge on Windows 10 will include keyboard and mouse support, 4k resolution, and easy map publishing from PC to Xbox One. 343 will provide more information later this year, but so far this is looking promising for PC gaming. Forge for Windows 10 might even pave the way for future Halo iterations on PC.
Microsoft is still offering free upgrades to Windows 10 until July 29th.
