Horizon Zero Dawn

Horizon Zero Dawn has debuted at number 1 in the UK sales charts, beating Breath of the Wild by a comfortable margin, and at the same time becoming the PS4’s biggest ever new IP launch in the process. While it is impressive that Horizon Zero Dawn has outsold Breath of the Wild in the UK, there is almost certainly a bigger base of PS4 owners than Switch and Wii U owners, especially considering the Nintendo Switch has only just released. As for Sony, it’s their biggest launch since Uncharted 4. Below is the full list for UK sales:

Here’s the UK Top 10 for the week ending March 4th:

  1. Horizon Zero Dawn (Sony)
  2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo)
  3. Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
  4. 1-2 Switch (Nintendo)
  5. For Honor (Ubisoft)
  6. FIFA 17 (EA)
  7. Super Bomberman R (Konami)
  8. Rocket League (505 Games)
  9. Sniper Elite 4 (Sold Out)
  10. Battlefield 1 (EA)

This is good news for Sony, and adds to their ever growing recent string of successes. What do you think of this news? Does it show that Horizon Zero Dawn has a wider appeal than the latest iteration of Zelda? Or will Breath of the Wild pick up the pace as more Switch consoles are sold?
