Hideo Kojima, the creator of the iconic Metal Gear Solid series, has unveiled the new mascot of Kojima Productions.
In a series of twitter posts, Kojima shared a three-part account of the character, named Ludens, who appears to be a sort of skeletal Legionnaire astronaut.
Kojima points out the labeling on Ludens’ suit, calling it the “Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) creative suit.” He cryptically hints at “cutting-edge equipment, technology, & the frontier spirit.” This suggests a possible deep-space setting with a focus on exploration and colonisation, but this is mere speculation.
As of now, these are the only details available in regards to Kojima Productions’ new IP. After a highly publicized split from Konami in 2015, Hideo Kojima has remained in the shadows until recently. An interview with Weekly Famitsu indicates that Kojima “wanted to rest [after the split], but my tempo would go whack and no one would forgive me.”
He goes on to say that Kojima Productions new logo contains a secret that hints at the upcoming title. What this secret is remains to be seen.
