Metal Gear Survive Struggles in UK Week One Sales Charts


It seems like Konami’s attempt to keep the Metal Gear universe alive and kicking without Hideo Kojima has fallen flat. Metal Gear Survive enters the UK charts at Number 6, according to GFK Chart-Track. While this may not sound too horrendous, it is when you consider how previous Metal Gear titles performed on their first week. Another spin-off, Metal Gear Rising, sold considerably better in it’s first week. In fact, Survive sold 85% fewer copies.

PC-wise, we can get some idea of its success by looking at Steam. Metal Gear Survive is way down on the list of concurrent players, currently 66th as of writing. We will have to wait for the coming weeks to see if this player-base increases, or dwindles into nothingness.

At least Konami tried, but as many suspected, you cannot have Metal Gear without Kojima. The rest of the Top 10 were made by some likely suspects: Call of Duty: WWII and Monster Hunter World to name but two. You can check out the rest of the Top 10 for yourself below:
