Microsoft has announced an important new feature for the hit building game Minecraft: crossplay.

The update, titled “The Friendly Update,” enables players across multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, Xbox One, PC. The Oculus Rift will also be fully functional with Minecraft. All achievements in Minecraft will count towards your Xbox Live Gamerscore, regardless of platform.

This update will also introduce “Realms,” which are persistent worlds that anyone can access, even if the host is not offline. This will enable other players to make progress (or destroy) the world at any time.
