The Nintendo 3DS Still Has Life Yet With Lots of Games Coming This Year

Heh, while I personally sailed on from the Nintendo 3DS and moved on to the Switch for Breath of the Wild, Nintendo announced that it is not yet done with the now-six year old console. With a slew of new titles that include Kirby, Box Boy sequels, and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Nintendo is fighting back, and they’re fighting back for their handheld hard. Here’s what I’m now going to be missing: (List compiled on GameSpot)

  • Hey, Pikmin! | July 28 (A new Pikmin Amiibo will release the same day.)
  • Ever Oasis | June 23
  • Monster Hunter Stories | Fall 2017
  • Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Spectres — Fall 2017 (Nintendo described this as the “definitive edition” of the game.)
  • Culdecept Revolot | August 29
  • RPG Maker FES | June 27 (The game will include Disgaea crossover characters and will allow other players to try out your gaming creations whether or not they own the full game.)
  • Miitopia | “Later this year”
  • Kirby Clash Deluxe | Available now
  • Kirby’s Blowout Blast | Summer 2017
  • Bye-Bye Box Boy | Available now

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia was also confirmed to be bringing DLC to the title, with the ability to purchase all of them at once with a Season Pass. Now I just have to wallow in regret and see if it was worth selling my console away.
