Nintendo Announce Nippon Marathon for the Switch

Nippon Marathon

The tidal waves of titles for the Switch never ceases to end. Today, Nintendo have revealed that Nippon Marathon is coming to their latest console. It’s currently available on Steam Early Access as a local multiplayer co-op racing game. But that designation really doesn’t do it justice. It looks like a chaotic cross-breed of Takeshi’s Castle, Fruit Ninja, and Trials HD. See for yourself in the video above. One to four players battle it out to come first over a course littered with crazy obstacles, all the while trying to avoid being pelted by watermelons and other dangerous projectiles.

Nippon Marathon is clearly inspired by the kinds of wacky Japanese gameshows we’ve all seen clips of on YouTube, and seems like it will be a perfect fit for the Switch when it releases in Autumn of 2018. Can you see yourself gathering 3 of your friends to partake in some wacky races? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
