Nintendo has officially announced additional amiibo-based content for the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, with a new trailer highlighting the features. This comes shortly after the Amazon France store listing revealed similar details, as we reported recently.
The Wolf Link amiibo comes packaged with the game, and unlocks an exclusive dungeon known as ‘The Cave of Shadows.’ This new dungeon presents a series of challenges, and tracks your success based on remaining hearts. It is accessible at any time, serving as a sort of score attack challenge. Other Zelda series amiibo are also compatible, with Link and Toon Link refilling your arrows, while Zelda and Shiek restoring your health. On the other side, the Ganondorf amiibo enables a challenge mode, increasing damage taken, for those looking to test their mettle.
The trailer also mentions that the Wolf Link amiibo will be compatible with the as-yet untitled upcoming Zelda game, though the extent of which remains unknown. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD is set to launch exclusively for the Wii U on March 4.
