Nintendo’s World Store closed down last month for renovations and refurbishments, and as of yesterday has been reopened to the general public. Nintendo Enquirer was on hand to observe the ribbon cutting ceremony, featuring guests such as Charles Martinet, who has voiced the iconic Mario and Luigi characters for 30 years. The redesign occurred because the original architecture had been bolted to the floor and did not allow for rearrangement of the space. With the new renovations, the floor plan has changed dramatically with the addition of new merchandise, and just in time for the Pokémon 20th Anniversary celebration events taking place next week.
Despite the vast popularity of the Nintendo store, and even with lines trailing out the building for much of the day, Nintendo recently announced to the Nintendo World Report in an interview that it has no plans to expand its world store to other regions.
