Today, as a part of the Consumer Electronic Show 2016 taking place in Las Vegas, Oculus let fly that their Oculus Rift VR device is going up for pre-order, and will be priced at $500. The VR device will be coming out in April 2016. Included are copies of EVE: Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale.
This comes off of the heels of the Oculus team announcing that the Kickstarter backers of their $350 developer kit would receive a special Kickstarter-edition consumer kit of the Oculus, free of charge. It definitely looks like their deal with Facebook has done them wonders, and it’s going to be great to see where the VR device heads. Could VR become a new fad, like the Wii was for motion sense gaming, or will it die out relatively quickly?
