The Walking Dead has been huge hit both on the TV screen and in the world on gaming. That trend continues as new details and a new trailer have been released for Overkill’s The Walking Dead.
During this past weekend, Overkill Software had a livestream reveal on Twitch for their upcoming Walking Dead game. Overkill Software is most famous for the Payday series, where it seems the upcoming Walking Dead game will take some inspiration. The game will contain four player co-op with four different characters, each with different abilities and skills to use. Story details are mostly bare at the moment, but it will reportedly expand the Walking Dead universe along with adding new characters and storylines. Details on multiplayer are also brief at this time. In the livestream, you get to hear from the staff at Overkill Software as well some words from The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.
During that Livestream, we also got a first trailer of the game which showed off one of the playable characters. In the trailer, we get to see Aiden travel across Washington D.C, both in present day and in the apocalyptic future. The trailer does not reveal too much other than introducing Aiden and showing off the atmosphere of the game. The trailer takes place in Washington D.C which is the presumed location of where the game takes place. At the end of the trailer, it is revealed that the game has a fall 2018 release date. The game will launch for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There is no time table yet for when the other three playable characters will be revealed. However, below is an image that hints at what we can expect.
While fans may still be talking about the Season 8 mid-season finale final moments, Walking Dead fans have a lot to look forward to in 2018 both on the TV screen and in gaming. For more on Overkill’s The Walking Dead or anything else gaming related, stay tuned to us here at Gamer Professionals.
