The mobile version of popular 3DS title Pokemon Shuffle has passed the five million downloads mark.
Released on 3DS in February 2015, Pokemon Shuffle Mobile came to iOS and to Android in August 2015 as one of Nintendo’s first mobile offerings.
In celebration of their successes, Nintendo is running a Pokemon Shuffle Mewtwo event. The event begins today, December 15, and will run until January 19, 2016. Players can claim the legendary creature in their gift box during that time.
Pokemon has been a longstanding asset to Nintendo and is thought to be well-suited to mobile platforms – many players even emulate classic Pokemon titles on their devices. Perhaps the warm reception of Pokemon Shuffle Mobile will embolden Nintendo to continue and further flesh out mobile development. Here’s hoping for a fully fledged Pokemon release on iOS and Android!
