Pokemon Sun and Moon Details Unveiled

Early this morning, the Official Pokemon Website released more information about their newest duo of games Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. With it came a little more info about the newest legendary Pokemon Solgaleo and Lunala, the region we’ll be exploring, and a few more additional features. You can find out all of the information at their Pokemon Sun and Moon branch of the Pokemon Website, but let’s cover the major announcements.

As mentioned above, there are the two new legendary Pokemon: Solgaleo (The sun-inspired lion Pokemon) and Lunala (a bat Pokemon with a cat face). Both represent the day and night cycles, with Solgaleo being a psychic and steel type while Lunala is a psychic and ghost type. Both are supposed to have a major impact on the adventure of our newest Pokemon Trainer. There is also a tiny bit more info on the newest grass and flying type starter Rowlet, the fire feline Litten, and universally disliked water type sealion Popplio.

This time around, players will be exploring the Alola region, a tropical island with many areas of volcanic activity. A look at the map shows four major islands, each with some volcanic activity. There are areas with geysers, heavy vegetation, some rocky passes, and a giant ice volcano. As per Pokemon tradition, you get a choice of a male or female hero/heroine, and their adventure begins as soon as they move to the island. There is also a wide variety of appearance options. There is also more information on the newest Pokemon expert: Professor Surfer Bro (actually named Professor Kukui). Professor Kukui is an expert on Pokemon moves and attacks, and is noted to having taken a few of them himself for the sake of learning. You will meet the Professors assistant, Lillie, who is around the age of the player’s trainer, and is support to help support the story. In the time after you arrive and before the time you leave, you will make friends with Hau. Hau is a big-hearted young trainer who described as having a big appetite.

Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon will also have a QR reader function integrated in with the game. This will allow you to get info about Pokemon through scanning QR codes, put that info into your Pokedex, and let you share Pokemon info with your friends.

For the first time ever, you will receive a special kind of Pokedex called the Rotom Pokedex. This Pokedex is inhabited by the Pokemon named Rotom, and will speak with you about different Pokemon and places in your journey. Rotom is suppose to have a unique personality and is extremely rare in the region of Aloha.

This is all the information we have on Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon. What do you think? How do you feel about the Pokemon-Pokedex mix? Are you excited for a Hawaiian themed adventure? Let me know in the comments!
