It’s been 6 years since the last addition to the Red Dead series and fans have been begging for a new one ever since; now their prayers may have just been answered. According to multiple reports, the next game is confirmed, coming soon with two new characters, and will be officially announced at E3 2016 for its release this October for Xbox One and Playstation 4. Not only that, but the CEO of Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, has stated how both the Red Dead and Grand Theft Auto series will continue until fans tire from them.

“I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It’s obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others,” said Zelnick.

According to various sources, the new game may be set in Japan. Others have talked of how the game has been in production for 3.5 years and will be called Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West. Personally, I believe it will stay in the West due to the fact that if it was set in Japan players may not be happy with the sudden change.
