Virtual Reality’s take on the horror genre of games is, by no means a new concept. However, Capcom is taking the idea to a whole new level. Having produced games of a creepy and horrific nature in the past, Capcom is using their flagship franchise – Resident Evil – to debut their first VR horror game, Resident Evil 7.
What is known about Resident Evil 7 biohazard is that you will play as a (so far) unnamed protagonist. The game is set in the first-person, which is the first for the Resident Evil main series [Author’s Note: I’m excluding Umbrella Corps because it was reviewed so poorly by critics (source 1, 2, and 3) that fans, and to an extent Capcom, don’t consider it cannon]. Resident Evil 7 features an all new cast of characters, but references to previous games will be made. Biohazard will take place in a south-eastern American-style setting that takes place in a mansion bearing close resemblance to a plantation house.
Resident Evil 7 biohazard is scheduled for release in Japan on January 26th, and in all other territories on January 24th, 2017.
