The development process for the upcoming RollerCoaster Tycoon World has seen its fair share of ups and downs, and a recent developer blog post has provided yet another speed bump. Due to unspecified reasons, the RollerCoaster Tycoon World will shift to an early access model, rather than the initial promise of a full-fledged release.

The post claims that the shift is simply an effort to present the title to players early, in an effort to gain feedback, but a degree of caution is necessary in regards to early access titles. For those willing to adopt early, the game will be playable from March 30, but no definitive release date has been announced. Please note that investing in an early access product is in no way equivalent to purchasing a full retail release, and the product is subject to heavy change and delays.

The early access release of RollerCoaster Tycoon World will run for the full retail price of US$49.99, with limited functionality. For full details of the included features, as well as the planned additions. head on over to the Steam product page. For anybody who has already pre-purchased the title, refunds will be offered up to March 31st.
