This is terrible news to hear. A man was taking his child out for the afternoon in Seattle this Sunday, when a Douglas fir tree fell and hit his vehicle. KING 5 News reported that the man, Eric Medalle, had been driving with one of his daughters when the massive tree fell. The accident occurred near the Lost Trail park. Seattle, often nicknamed the “Windy City,” had several trees fall over in a wind storm that weekend, including the one that hit Medalle’s vehicle. His daughter was rescued from the vehicle by a bystander and taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

Medalle was well-known for his works as a senior member of the creative design team for Pokémon. He had been employed by The Pokémon Company since 2003, and is survived by his two daughters and wife. Since his passing, friends had gotten together to create a fundraiser for his daughters; the campaign has since raised over $52,000 from time of this article’s publishing. Gamer Professionals would like to thank Mr. Medalle for his input and voice in the monster-collecting series, and send best wishes and condolences to the Medalle family in their time of need.
